CLCC President’s Message

Dear friends and neighbors,

It’s been my pleasure and honor to serve these last three years as President of the Cedar Lake Community Club. But my term is now completed and it’s my turn to pass the torch.

Three years ago I was pretty leery about taking on the responsibility of being president. But it all worked out okay because, luckily, I had lots of help from the other CLCC officers and members, from the bar committee, the Ladies Auxiliary, and the Fishing Club; and all you members who lent a hand around the clubhouse and at events. So, thank you all for your support and friendship. I hope you know I tried my best.

To my successor; I pledge my support and look forward to seeing the plans we’ve made for the kitchen come to fruition. But more importantly, in general, always remember that it’s not work if you’re having a good time.

Speaking of club business, the annual “open meeting” of the CLCC will be on May 9th at 7:30 PM. The open session will consist of introductions and an open forum for members to ask any questions they may have about the club, its activities, rules, etc. Suggestions are always welcome too. In the past, this meeting has been sparsely attended. Maybe that means everyone is happy with the way things are. Or maybe you’re too polite to say what’s on your mind. Or maybe you think you might want to get involved but you don’t know how or who to talk to about it. If so, then maybe you should stop by the open meeting. We encourage your participation, your input and suggestions.

At the conclusion of the open session, guests will be excused, so that the boards regular business may be conducted, including the election of our new board officers and president.

In closing, I’d like to share these words of truth from the great English poet Joseph Addison:

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.”

Have a GREAT summer!

Best regards,

Bob Vidal

CLCC Membership

As of the end of April, 131 families have joined the Cedar Lake Community Club. This is a great number for so early in the year. We ask that the dues be paid by Memorial Day, since then is when we start the Hub Lakes activities. Please don’t forget that in order to participate in Hub Lakes Sports you need to be a paid CLCC member.

We have many new families this year, and almost all of them have already decided that the Community Club is a good deal and have paid their dues. We thank all the families who have joined, and we hope that this year we can break the 200 member mark! Please look on the CLCC website for information on membership and to download your membership form.

With our thanks,
The CLCC Board of Directors

As a reminder, Membership and Boat Tag applications have been emailed/mailed to CLPO Stockholders. The Membership Tag application must be completed and returned to the Secretary for processing. Boat tags (like membership tags) are required by Memorial Day weekend as well. Boats that do not have a 2018 boat tag are subject to removal from the Landings and a $100 redemption fee.

A Swim Program application for lessons and/or Cedar Lake Swim Team is also included in the mailing. If your child(ren) participates in swim lessons and/or the swim team, there is a required fee of $45 per child (up to $100 per family).

** Important News **

Dear CLPO Stockholders:

Landing repairs have been completed. You may now return your boats to the landing(s) of your choice. Lakefront property owners are reminded to please store your boats on your own property in an effort to keep landing space available to non-lakefront property owners.

A special thank you to all who volunteered to build, repair, paint, and clean up the landings and boat racks.

Thank you,

CLPO Board
