Dear Cedar Lake Residents,

The hot months of summer are finally here, July is off to a great start with fantastic weather and great events. The lake has been busy with boaters, swimmers, fishermen, and lots of children at the beaches. It is great to see so many residents out enjoying the lake.

Hub Lakes sports are off to an exciting start. The track meet was lots of fun and athletes of all ages were very successful in the events. Many thanks to the coordinators and volunteers who helped keep this event alive, especially Coach Kim Luer. The men’s and women’s horseshoe teams are busy on Friday nights competing for another successful season. The women’s softball team is off to a great start and the men’s team is battling hard and hoping to end the season strong. Volleyball is kicking off and the teams could use a few more players. If anyone is considering playing, come on down on Tuesday and Thursday nights. The swim team has also started its season and lots of kids have showed up to compete. It looks to be a good season ahead of them. Thanks to the parents who are volunteering each week; it takes many hands to make these swim meets successful.

The Fishing Club recently hosted its annual Fishing Derby and there was a huge turnout. Lots of big fish were reeled in and all of the participants had a great day of fishing. Thanks to the CLFC for organizing another great event. The CLCC hosted the Newcomers Party and it was great to meet a few new lake residents. Board members from the CLCC, CLPO, and CLLA attended and gave the newcomers a warm welcome. We look forward to seeing all of you at future events!

July is another busy month full of events. On the 12th, the CLLA is hosting a Food Truck night at the clubhouse and the bar will be open. There will be some great food options to choose from. Later in the month on the 20th, the annual Cedar Lake Day will be held at the beach followed up by a BBQ picnic at the clubhouse. This event is always one of the best each summer and is a great tradition to participate in.

In closing, I would like to remind everybody that with the summer comes lots of kids and pedestrians on the roads and I urge you to be extra cautious while driving through the lake.

I hope to see everyone out enjoying the lake…after all it is why we choose to live here!

Yours Truly,

Daniel Jackson
CLCC President
