Dear Cedar Lake Residents,

Welcome to November and the start of the colder months here at Cedar Lake. Even with the lower temperatures looming, the beautiful fall foliage accents our lake perfectly.

There is something about the smell of leaves and the colder weather that makes this time of year so enjoyable to spend outside around the lake. We had a great end to our summer season and looking forward, our winter season looks to continue that trend.

We wrapped up the summer with our annual “CedarFest” BBQ and by all accounts a great time was had. The music was great, the attendance was high, and the food was delicious. It takes many volunteers to pull off events like this, and thankfully we had a great team. Our very own Cedar Laker, Chef Greg Matty, stepped in to lead the way in the kitchen and provide us a great menu to enjoy. A special thanks to Greg for all the work he put in to help make this event successful. Thank you as well to the event committee, the CLCC board members, and the many other residents who volunteered to set up tables and chairs, and to lend a hand wherever it was needed.

The Hub Lakes sport seasons is all wrapped up and we had a great year, finishing in 3rd place overall. Many thanks to all the coaches, participants, and especially to the fans for always coming out to support the teams.

Collectively the CLCC and the CLLA put on some great events in the last couple of months. Recently, the Ladies hosted Taco Night at the clubhouse and it was a great time. The annual Trunk or Treat and Pumpkin Carving events were held around Halloween and, despite a rainy day, the event was lots of fun.

Looking ahead we have the Photo Contest on November 23rd at the clubhouse. This event always brings out the creative and artistic side of Cedar Lakers. Everyone can participate and help judge as well. I have seen some great photos posted online recently and I am sure many of our photographers are hard at work capturing their next entry. Additionally, we have a band night scheduled for November 30th when Boone Scuttle 5 will return the clubhouse. Both events are sure to be lots of fun that you won’t want to miss.

November starts the holiday season and I want to wish all of you in advance a Happy Thanksgiving. I look forward to seeing everyone enjoying the fall weather and the warm fires that will be going down at the pub on Friday nights.

Yours Truly,
